With the unbridled enthusiasm of a galloping Arabian stallion, I leapt at the chance when TGW suggested we go out with Baby V for the day; much later than was strictly necessary we made it out the door, enthusiasm tempered but intact. Now Baby V has become quite strong and she does not always appreciate being put in her buggy; this morning I learned the trick from TGW – whack a dummy in and commence a blitzkrieg operation to strap V in – it works surprisingly well. The dummy can be retrieved moments later (I am not a great one for V having a dummy although I have reluctantly come to appreciate its effectiveness for creating peace out of cacophony). And off to the Harbour Bridge we went.
I love walking the Harbour Bridge, and especially with Baby V as it is really very safe for her to have a run around – and it also wears her out – a third or so of the span is V’s record for walking / running (why walk when you can run); but to be fair to V, she probably actually does more like two thirds as we do go back the way we came more than a few times as we progress across the bridge. By the time we have sauntered through Barangaroo (which is fast becoming one of my favourite parts of the city) V is out like a light and TGW and I dine at the Four Pines x Sports Bar (https://www.sportingglobe.com.au/) thing on King Street Wharf before heading home via the ferry.
